Inquiries:
- We encourage individuals to check in with us either in person or via email (hsbuild@uw.edu). Some items may take a several days to be turned in.
- We will check our inventory to see if we can locate an individual’s items, but without an accurate description of the item we cannot release it to the individual.
- Non-valuable items turned in to the HS Building Management Lost & Found may be held for a minimum of 30 days. Valuable items may be held for a minimum of 60 days unless specified otherwise (as defined below).
- Unclaimed items are donated to charity

Valuable items:
- Valuable items include: phones, tablets, storage devices (including thumb drives), etc.
- Debit/credit cards are kept for two business days and then shredded if unclaimed.
- Husky Cards are kept for two business days before being sent to the Husky Card Account & ID Center if unclaimed.
- Items containing personal information (SSN, EID/SID, residential addresses) are kept for two business days and destroyed if unclaimed
- Cash: If unclaimed, will be donated to UW Students First Scholarship Fund
Items not accepted:
- Underwear, socks, towels, pillows and sheets
- Toiletries
- Cosmetics
- Medications
- Weapons
- Bicycles or other wheeled conveyances
- Food items and anything perishable. This includes containers containing spoiled or suspect food. HS Building Management will not clean containers.
