Security issues in all Health Sciences facilities (MHSC, HSEB, SCC, Foege, and ARCF) should be reported to UW Police.
In an emergency, call 911. For non-emergencies, call the UWPD dispatch line at 206-685-8973 (UWPD).
Online reporting is also available for instances of theft, vandalism, or lost property.
Security concerns can be reported to HS Building Management (hsbuild@uw.edu; 206-685-0143) during business hours. We will do our best to respond – if we are unavailable, or you need to call UWPD, please leave a message for us.
Lockouts
If you are locked out of your office or lab, please contact:
- HS Building Management during business hours (8am-5pm). We will do our best to respond promptly.
- UWPD non-emergency outside of business hours.
If you are a vendor or contractor who needs to be let into a room, please attempt to contact the requesting department for entry. If you are unable to contact them, please contact HS Building Management during business hours.

- SafeZone App – a UWPD recommended app that connects you directly with campus emergency services, as well as additional safety features.
- Husky SafeTrip & NightRide – secure escort services for UW campus members. Available during nights.
- UW Alert – campus-wide alerts for events that may pose a hazard to health or safety.
- UWMC Department of Public Safety – security department for UWMC Montlake. For general inquiries, call 206-598-4909. If you are a hospital employee/volunteer and would like an escort to your vehicle on UW Campus, call 206-598-5555.
