Lost and Found

HSAS&F

Inquiries:

  • We encourage individuals to check in with us either in person or via email (hsbuild@uw.edu). Some items may take a several days to be turned in.
  • We will check our inventory to see if we can locate an individual’s items, but without an accurate description of the item we cannot release it to the individual.
  • Items turned into HS Building Management will be held for a minimum of 30 days.
  • HS Building Management will attempt to contact individuals about items turned in with identifying or personal information.
  • Unclaimed items are turned into the HUB lost and found after 30 days.

Special items and exceptions:

  • Debit/credit cards are kept for three business days and then shredded if unclaimed.
  • Husky Cards are kept for three business days before being sent to the Husky Card Account & ID Center if unclaimed.
  • Items containing sensitive personal information (such as a SSN) are kept for three business days and destroyed if unclaimed.

Items not accepted:

  • Underwear, socks, or other undergarments
  • Towels, pillows, and sheets
  • Toiletries
  • Cosmetics
  • Medications
  • Weapons
  • Bicycles or other wheeled vehicles
  • Perishables
    • This includes containers with food or beverages. HS Building Management will not clean containers.
  • HS Building Management may refuse to accept any item that is soiled, damaged, or dirty
