UW Teaching with Simulation

Simulation modules cover simulation basics to advanced applications. There are also tools to help plan your simulation, develop your simulation scenarios, and track student outcomes.

UW Interprofessional Simulation Team Training

The content was developed by the Macy grant team at the University of Washington, who were funded in 2008 to develop and integrate interprofessional team training into existing curriculum in the Health Sciences schools of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and the Physician Assistant Program. This training was piloted with a group of 49 students in June 2010 and rolled out to a group of 300+ students in June 2011.

Society for Simulation in Healthcare

The Society for Simulation in Healthcare is a broad-based, multi-disciplinary, multi-specialty, international society that represents the growing number of educators and researchers who utilize a variety of simulation techniques for education, testing and research in Healthcare.

Association of Standardized Patient Educators (ASPE)

The University of Washington SP Program belongs to the Association of Standardized Patient Educators (ASPE), the professional organization for the field of SP Education.

ASPE is the international organization for professionals in the field of SP methodology. ASPE is dedicated to:

  • Professional growth and development of its members
  • Advancement of SP research and related scholarly activities
  • Setting standards of practice
  • Fostering patient centered care
